Prof. Giovanni Molo has built up several decades of experience as a lawyer, pursuing his clients' interests effectively and rigorously across a range of contexts, with an integrated approach that transcends the boundaries between specialisms. He works both as an advocate in court and arbitration proceedings and in the field of legal and commercial advisory. He has assisted individuals, companies and public bodies in civil, commercial and banking litigation, in criminal proceedings, in international mutual legal and administrative assistance proceedings, in employment law disputes, as well as in administrative cases, in particular in the area of public procurement. In his advisory work, he has assisted financial intermediaries in authorisation and supervisory proceedings and has handled the purchase and sale of corporate shareholdings. He has served as the liquidator of a bank.

His intensive practice is matched by an equally intensive teaching and research activity. Giovanni Molo is an Adjunct Professor of contract law, compliance and economic criminal law at SUPSI, where he is responsible for the Master of Advanced Studies in economic law and business crime.

Prof. Giovanni Molo was an associate (2001–2008) and partner (2009–2019) at the law firm Bolla Bonzanigo & Associati; he is a co-founding member, partner and member of the management group of the law firm Collegal (since 2020).

After completing, from 1998, his legal traineeship at one of the largest Swiss law firms, the Appeals Service of the Council of State and the District Court of Bellinzona, Giovanni Molo has practised as a lawyer since 2001. He studied economic and social sciences at the University of Geneva, graduating in 1994, and law at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), graduating in 1998. He also attended the London School of Economics (LSE), obtaining a Master of Science in 1995. Subsequently, alongside his professional activity, he furthered his legal education by obtaining, in 2005, an LL.M. in international economic law and European law at the University of Lausanne and, in 2016, a doctorate in law (Ph.D.) at the University of Geneva.

Giovanni Molo speaks Italian, German, French and English. He also has some knowledge of Spanish. He is registered in the Cantonal Register of Lawyers in the Canton of Ticino and is admitted to practise throughout the Swiss Confederation.
